Sophomore outside hitter Josephine Rausch led four Pirates on the All-Western State Conference North Division team earning first team accolades. Sophomore Daphne Raymond was named second team All-WSC while Sophomore Shai Daniels and redshirt freshman Addison Olson each garnered honorable mention all-conference recognition for the 2025 season.

The Ventura College volleyball team had its 2025 season come to an end Tuesday with a 3-1 playoff loss at Mt. San Antonio College. Freshman Madison Mierau led the No. 10-seeded Pirates with 11 kills while sophomore Daphne Raymond recorded eight winners at the net with five blocks. Josephine Rausch closed out her stellar VC career with seven kills, 17 digs and a pair of aces against the No. 7-seeded Mounties in the regional semifinal.

The Pirate volleyball team closed the regular season with a three-set sweep at Antelope Valley Friday evening in their Western State Conference crossover. Josephine Rausch again led VC with 12 kills and nine digs and Madison Mierau recorded eight winners. Shai Daniels had eight digs and three service aces in the road win.

Volleyball Sweeps Pierce in WSC North Finale

The VC volleyball team traveled to Woodland Hills Wednesday, defeating Los Angeles PIerce in three sets to close Western State North Conference play. Madison Mierau recorded nine kills with a .600 hitting percentage and Josephine Rausch also had nine kills hitting .571. Valeria Ibarra and Monaye Ramessar handed out 13 and 12 assists, respectively, and Ibarra added eight digs.

The VC volleyball team came from behind for an exciting five-set win over College of the Desert Monday at the Athletic Event Center, ending the Roadrunners' 14-match winning streak. Josephine Rausch had another double-double with 14 kills and 16 digs and Addison Olson hit .333 at the net with seven winners to go along with 10 blocks to lead state No. 18 Ventura past No.14 COD.

The VC volleyball team honored its sophomore class Wednesday before sweeping past Allan Hancock, 26-24, 25-19, 25-15 at the Athletic Event Center. Josephine Rausch posted her 10th double-double of the season with 12 kills and 14 digs while hitting .308 and Callie Cahill added 12 winners at the net with a .364 hitting percentage. Shai Daniels led the defensive effort with 22 digs and Taylor Lane recorded three bocks. Monaye Ramessar and Valeria Ibarra handed out 17 and 15 assists, respectively.

After a season of knocking on the door against highly-touted opponents, the Pirate volleyball team came home from Santa barbara Friday with its long-sought after signature win, a four-set victory over former conference frontrunner Santa Barbara. Josephine Rausch again had a stellar performance with a 20-kill, 11-dig night while adding five service aces. Shai Daniels recorded 35 digs and Taylor Lane had five blocks in the Pirate triumph.

The VC women's volleyball team dropped a 3-set decision at Los Angeles Mission College on Wednesday. Josephone Rausch had 10 kills and four digs while Madison Mierau and Daphne Raymond each totaled six winners in the setback. Shai Daniels recorded 10 digs and Monaye Ramessar had 16 assists.

The VC volleyball team battled for five long sets Friday before succumbing to visiting Moorpark despite Josephine rausch's 20-20 double-double performance. The sophomore recorded 20 kills and 21 digs, including six big winners and two services aces as the Pirates came back to win the fourth set 25-22 after trailing 13-8. Daphne Raymond had eight kills while Shai Daniels recorded seven service aces and 20 digs in the outstanding effort for Ventura (11-8, 4-4).

The VC volleyball team rode the momentum of a strong opening set in sweeping past Cuesta, 25-13, 25-22, 25-22 Wednesday at the Athletic Event Center. Josephine Rausch led the effort with 12 kills while Daphne Raymond had 11 winners and a .391 hitting percentage. Addison Olson recorded eight kills at the net and Shai Daniels led the defensive effort with 31 digs.

The VC volleyball team got back on track Friday evening with a straight-sets win at Allan Hancock College. Madison Mierau and Josephine rausch each had quality perfrmances at the net with 12 kills each, hiting .360 and .344, respectively. Shai Daniels again led the defensive effort with 26 digs while Valeria Ibarra and Monaye Ramessar handed out 20 and 17 assists, respectively. Rausch added 11 digs for another double-double.

The VC volleyball team put up another strong fight Wednesday, but ultimately fell to visiting Santa Barbara in four sets, 25-18, 27-25, 24-26, 25-19. Addison Olson led the effort with 11 kills while Josephine Rausch recorded a double-double of 10 kills and 15 digs. Daphne Raymond also had 10 winners at the net and Shai Daniels led the defense with 33 digs. Monaye Ramessar handed out 22 assists with 12 digs and Valeria Ibarra passed 16 helpers with a dozen digs.

Madison Mierau totaled eight kills and Valeria Ibarra and Monaye Ramessar handed out 15 and 14 assists, respectively.

Josephine Rausch had another solid performance with a double-double of 15 kills and 12 digs and Daphne Raymond recorded seven winners at the net. Presley Ballengee handed out 19 assists and Shai Daniels led the defense with 25 digs. Addison Olson and Callie Cahill accumulated four and three blocks, respectively.

The Ventura College volleyball team went the distance at Cuesta Friday, comig away with a five-set win against the Cougars. Josephine Rausch posted a double-double of 19 kills, with a .394 hitting percentage, with 13 digs and five blocks while Madison Mierau attacked at a .462 clip with 15 winners at the net. Addison Olson added nine kills with seven blocks defensively. Monaye Ramessar dropped 28 assists while Valeria Ibarra had 16 assists and 10 digs.

The Ventura College volleyball team had an easy time with visiting Glendale Wednesday, sweeping past the Vaqueros 25-8, 25-18, 25-18. Addison Olson hit 10 kills and Madison Mierau had nine to lead the Pirates while Jocelyn Alfar and Daphne Raymond recorded six and five winners at the net, respectively. Valeria Ibarra handed out 24 assists and Presley Ballengee dropped 10 helpers. Chelsea Torres recorded 10 digs defensively.

The VC volleyball team made the long trip to Citrus College in Glendora Firday, bringing home a 3-1 victory over the Owls. After droppint the first set 25-18, Ventura (6-4) won consecutive sets, 21, 21 and 22 to clim the victory. Josephine Rausch's double-double of 16 kills and 12 digs led the way for the Pirates and Addison Olson recorded 10 kills with a .476 hitting percentage. Shai Daniels had 33 digs defensively and Monaye Ramessar handed out 28 assists.

The Antelope Valley College volleyball team came into Wednesday's match at Ventura undefeated this season. They left without that moniker as the Pirates accomplished a three-set sweep of the Marauders. Four different Pirates recorded eight or more kills, including Addison Olson with 10, Madison Mierau and Josephine Rausch with nine, and Daphne Raymond with eight. Valeria Ibarra and Monaye Ramessar had 22 and 16 assists, respectively, and Shai Daniels recored 15 digs.

The VC volleyball team fired on all cylinders Friday in sweeping past College of the Canyons atthe Athletic Event Center, 25-10, 25-13, 26-24. The Pirates committed just 12 hitting erors in the match, hitting a solid .315 as a team, and recorded 14 service aces in the three sets. Josephine Rausch le dthe offense with 10 kills and Daphne Raymond had eight winners with a .438 hitting percentage. Valeria Ibarra turned in 20 assists and Monaye Ramessar hit six service aces against the Cougars.

The No. 24-ranked Pirates defeated No. 25 San Bernardino Valley in five sets to start out the day and dropped a close three-set decision against No. 7 Santa Monica in the nightcap. Shai Daniels le dthe effort with 18 kills on the day with 44 digs in the two matches.

Shai Daniels led a trio of double-doub les, posting 12 kills and 19 digs while Josephine Rausch had 14 kills and 10 digs. Monaye Ramessar added in 22 assists and 10 digs fo her own In-N-Out special.

Pirate volleyball opens 2025 with sweep

The VC volleyball team started the Pirates' 2025-26 athletics year in fine fashion Friday with a 3-0 sweep at Imperial Valley College Friday. Shai Daniels and Callie Cahill led the balanced attack with seven kills each while Josephine Rausch added six winners and 12 digs on defense. Valeria Ibarra and Monaye Ramessar each handed out 16 assists in the Pirate victory.
