The Ventura College women's tennis team earned All-Academic Team honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for the 2026 season. The Pirates were one of 12 JUCO women's tennis teams from around the country, six from California, recognized by the ITA for academic excellence. Additionally, VC had six student athletes awarded Scholar Athlete awards for outstanding individual accomplishment in the classroom.

The Ventura College Athletic Department capped its celebration of 100 years of competition with another top finish in the 2025-26 all-sports National Association of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Ron Case Cup standings. Pirate Athletics placed 23rd among California community college athletic departments. It is the 19th Top-25 finish for VC in the 27-year history of the award.

Ventura's doubles team of Ella Morgan and Sherry Bonilla were named honorable mention All-Western State Conference in the No. 3 doubles slot as voted by the conference coaches earlier this month. The duo were a solid pair for the Pirates as the team qualified fo rth 3C2A Southern California Regional Playoffs for the second year in a row and the third time in the past three seasons.

Apr. 23, 2026Women's Tennis
The VC women's tennis team had its season come to an end Thursday on the first day of the 3C2A State Championships at The Ojai Tournament. Kira Branson led the way for the Pirates with a win in the singles draw and a win in doubles with Chandra Padua before bowing out in the second round of play in each draw. Dulce Contreras and Isabella DeRosa, along with Shery Bonilla and Ella Morgan also competed in the state championships.
