Rausch leads Quartet of Pirates on All-WSC Team
Sophomore outside hitter Josephine Rausch led four Pirates on the All-Western State Conference North Division team earning first team accolades. Sophomore Daphne Raymond was named second team All-WSC while Sophomore Shai Daniels and redshirt freshman Addison Olson each garnered honorable mention all-conference recognition for the 2025 season.
Sophomore outside hitter Josephine Rausch led four Pirates on the All-Western State Conference North Division team earning first team accolades. Sophomore Daphne Raymond was named second team All-WSC while Sophomore Shai Daniels and redshirt freshman Addison Olson each garnered honorable mention all-conference recognition for the 2025 season.
Rausch, a Tehachapi High School product, was named first team All-WSC after earning honorable mention all-conference honors a year ago. She led Ventura with 297 kills and a .242 hitting percentage in 26 matches and 90 sets this past season. She also was second on the team with 253 digs and runner-up with 35 service aces on the year.
A Ventura High School graduate, Raymond earned second team All-WSC recognition after earning honorable mention accolades as a freshman. The Middle and Opposite recorded 174 kills on the season with a .216 hitting percentage. She also totaled 65 total blocks, second on the team, 16 of them solo.
Daniels, a first team All-WSC honoree last year, earned an honorable mention nod in 2025 after switching to the libero position for VC. The Buena High School product led Ventura with 466 digs in 25 matches. She also led the team with 41 service aces.
Olson also was named honorable mention All-WSC in voting by the conference coaches. The redshirt freshman from Bakersfield High School led the team defensively at the net with 89 total blocks, 21 solo. She also totaled 157 kills with a .250 hitting percentage.
Ventura ended the season with 16 wins and 10 losses against one of the toughest schedules in Southern California. The Pirates finished fourth in the WSC North, a conference that featured four of the top 15 ranked teams in the state. The Pirates played 15 matches against opponents in the 20-team SoCal playoff bracket and finished the year as the 18th-ranked team in the state.
