VC's Owen Patterson earned 3C2A All-American and first team All-State accolades for the 2025 season as determined by the state's men's water polo coaches. Meanwhile, Bryce Biglin was named second team All-State.
The Western State Conference champion Ventura College men's water polo team swept the conference's post-season awards following their first WSC title in 16 seasons. Owen Patterson was named the WSC Most Valuable Player while Evan Augusta, Boaz Biglin, Bryce Biglin and Wyatt Dingman all earned first-team all-conference honors. VC head coach Mike Arteaga was named the WSC Coach of the Year for the 2025 season.
The resurgent season of the VC men's water polo team came to an end Friday in the second round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The No. 7-seeded Pirates fell to No. 2 Long Beach 15-8 at Southwestern College in Chula Vista. Boaz Biglin led the offensive effort for Ventura (22-13) with three goals while Evan Augusta had a goal, three assists and a steal. Nico Rosado drew six ejections and Bryce Biglin recorded 19 saves in the cage.
The Ventura College men's water polo team extended their first post-season appearance in 12 years Thursday with a 10-4 victory over Saddleback in the first round of the 3C2A Southern California Regionals at Southwestern College in Chula Vista. Owen Patterson netted three goals while Daniel Vadas scored twice with two assists and six steals to lead the effort for the No. 7-seeded Pirates (22-12). Milos Djanic also scored twice for Ventura agsinst the No. 10-seeded Bobcats.
One of the best season's in recent memory for the VC men's water polo team got a little batter Friday as the Pirates, the No. 3 -seed in the Western State Conference Tournament, upset No. 2 Los Angeles Valley 14-13 to advance to the conference championship game. Owen Patterson scored four goals, including the game winner with 1:15 left to play, and Evan Augusta also netted four scores with a pair of assists in the contest at the Ventura Aquatic Center.

Daniel Vadas netted nine scores and Patrik Bötkös drew 16 ejections over the weekend as Ventura defeated State No. 8 Saddleback for the third time this season and No. 10 Mt. San Antonio for the second time in 2025.

Owen Patterson continued his stellar play with 21 goals in the four games while Evan Augusta dropped 12 assists for Ventura goals. Bryce Biglin had a nice weekend in the cage with 56 saves.
The Ventura College men's water polo team dropped a close 13-11 contest against visiting Los Angeles Valley Wednesday at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Daniel Vadas, Nico Rosado and Owen Patterson all netted two goals for the Pirates with Vadas also handing out a pair of assists. Rosado recorded for ejections drawn and Patrik Bötkös alsohad four ED's. Brayden Black grabbed two steals defensively for VC (13-10, 2-2).

The Pirates fell to the hosts and No. 4-ranked Vikings in the opener before dropping their third decision of the season to No.2 West Valley in the nightcap. Milos Djanic scored seven goals in the two games while Owen Patterson netted six. Nico Rosado drew 11 ejections on the day and Bryce Biglin recorded 28 saves in the cage.

The triumphs were highlighted by a 1-14 victory Saturday against state No. 4-ranked Mt. San Antonio. Owen Patterson led the offensive charge with 26 goals in the four games and Bryce Biglin recorded a staggering 59 saves in the cage on the weekend.

Boaz Biglin found the inside of the cage five times to lead Ventura (9-5, 1-0) while Nico Rosado and Patrik Bötkös each netted four goals. Daniel Vadas scored three times. Bryce Biglin recorded nine saves in the goal for the Pirates.
The VC men's water polo team faced some tough competition at the Mt. San Antonio Tournament Friday and Saturday, dropping the first two contests on Day 1 before pulling out a pair of wins on Day 2.

VC dropped a battle of Pirates, falling to Orange Coast Friday before coming back to defeat Saddleback. Saturday the Pirates ran away from Southwestern and dropped a heartbreaker against Cerritos. Patrik Bötkös had seven goals and drew 14 ejections in the four games.
