The Pirates were limited to one goal by Augusta in the entire first half as the Viking defense won the day. By the time Ventura got untracked it was too late with LBCC comfortably ahead.
Wyatt Dingman had a goal, two assists and three steals in his final game in the orange and black and Daniel Vadas totaled five steals defensively.
The loss, however difficult, cannot put a damper on the resurgence of the VC men's water polo team in 2025. The team captured its first Western State Conference crown since 2009 and returned to the playoff for the first time in a dozen years. The 22 wins for Ventura in the season is the most for the program since its 27-win season of 1997.
