Pirates Pound Santa Monica in the Pool
The Pirates' men's water polo team scored early and often, running away from Santa Monica 23-2 Wednesday at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Owen Patterson led the offensive explosion with six goals while Boaz Biglin had a pair of scores with six assists. Nico Rosado scored four times and Wyatt Dingman found the inside of the cage three times for VC (10-5, 2-0).

Owen Patterson led the offensive explosion with six goals while Boaz Biglin had a pair of scores with six assists. Nico Rosado scored four times and Wyatt Dingman found the inside of the cage three times for VC (10-5, 2-0).
Patterson scored four goals in the first quarter, Bo. Biglin scored twice, and five other Pirates scored in the period as VC opened up an 11-1 lead eight minutes into the game.
Rosado scored twice in the second stanza and Ventura held a 16-2 halftime advantage.
Bryce Biglin turned away 11 Corsair shots in the cage in the victory.
Ventura next heads north to play in the Bruce Watson Invitational at West Valley College in Saratoga Friday and Saturday, Oct. 10 and 11. They resume Western State Conference play on Wednesday Oct. 15 in a showdown at Cuesta.
