Men's Polo Competes at Long Beach Mini
The VC men's water polo team competed at hte Long Beach Mini Tournment Friday, dropping a pair of hard-fought games to Top-4 opponents. The Pirates fell to the hosts and No. 4-ranked Vikings in the opener before dropping their third decision of the season to No.2 West Valley in the nightcap. Milos Djanic scored seven goals in the two games while Owen Patterson netted six. Nico Rosado drew 11 ejections on the day and Bryce Biglin recorded 28 saves in the cage.

The Pirates fell to the hosts and No. 4-ranked Vikings in the opener before dropping their third decision of the season to No.2 West Valley in the nightcap. The Pirates fell behind early against LBCC, tailing 4-0 midway through the opening period and 7-3 at the end of the first quarter. Goals by Patterson and Boaz Biglin kept VC close in the second as Ventura trailed 12-7 at intermission. Unfortunately, Ventura could not make the comeback against LBCC, falling 17-12 to the Vikings.
Djanic led the effort with four goals and a pair of assists and Patterson netted three goals with two steals and two ED's. Evan Augusta and Wyatt Dingman each scored a pair of gaols and Rosado drew six ejections. Br. Biglin had 12 saves in goal.
In the nightcap, the Pirates dropped their third match-up of the season against No. 2 West Valley, 17-14. Rosado was the top contributor with four goals and five ejections drawn while Djanic and Patterson each scored three times. Daniel Vadas handed out three assists and Brayden Black had a pair of helpers. Br. Biglin stopped 16 West Valley shots in the cage.
VC (13-9, 2-1) returns to Western State Conference play in their next outing, hosting Los Angeles Valley on Wednesday Oct. 22 at the Ventura Aquatic Center.
