McCarthy, Torres Earn All-American Honors at State

Ventura's Trevor McCarthy and Brianna Torres each earned All-American honors at San Mateo Friday at the 3C2A State Track & Field Championships. McCarthy earned his award in the javelin while Torres in the 10,000m run on the first day of the championships.

McCarthy, Everett, Torres Qualify for State Championships

Ventura's Trevor McCarthy, Cole Everett and Brianna Torres are heading to the 3C2A State Track & Field Championships next week following their performances in this weeken'd Southern California Championships at Saddleback College. McCarthy will compete in the javelin, Everett in the high jump and Torres in the 10,000m while also serving as an alternate in the 5,000m. Max Daniel is an alternate in the 100m.

Pirate Track & Field Sending Six to SoCal Finals

The VC men's and women's track and field teams are sending six individuals to the 3C2A Southern California Regional Finals next week following the preliminaries Saturday at Saddleback College. Four men and two women will compete in the finals, with one women's relay team as an alternate for the penultimate meet of the season. Cole Everett, Trevor McCarthy, Max Daniel and Caleb Marzette will compete for the men while Brianna Torres and Ashley Crist will compete for the women.

Pirate Men Third, Women Sixth at WSC Championships

The Pirates' men's track and field team placed third overall, half a point out of second, and the VC women were sixth in the Western State Conference Championships Firday at Moorpark College. Trevor McCarthy finished first in the javelin an Max Daniel, Shaun Tolson and Micah Contreras all produced silver medal performances for the men's team. The women's 4x100 quartet of LeShelle Lee, Ashley Crist, Kelsey Crist, Chloe Williams brought home gold in a highly contested relay.

Pirates Host and Excel in WSC Prelims

The VC men's and women's track and field teams hosted the Western State Conference Preliminaries Friday, with a number of athletes moving on to next week's WSC Championships. Additionally, Cole Everett won the conference high jump finals to advance to the Southern California Regionals. Brianna Torres claimed second in the 10000m final and Ashley Crist won silver in the long jump.

VC Track & Field Competes at Mt. SAC Relays

The Ventrua College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Mt. SAC Relays Saturday inWalnut. Brianna Torres led the effort for the women with a silver medal in the 5000m with a lifetime best while Cole Everett produced a personal record in the high jump, placing fourth. Mayagrace Wilson, Kelsey Crist, Ashley Crist and Chloe Williams crossed the finish line fifth in the 4x100m relay for the Pirates.

Pirate Track & Field Competes at Dave Shannon Invite

The VC men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Dave Shannon Invotational Saturday at El Camino College in Torrance. Avalyn Everett had the best finish of the day in the meet that involved at least a dozen community college teams along with several club and unattached athletes, coming in second in the women's high jump. Ashley Crist claimed bronze in the triple jump for the women while Jacson Cutting claimed a pair of third-place finishes to lead the men.

Pirates Host WSC Coastal Track & Field Meet

The Pirates'men's and women's track and field teams hosted the Western State Coastal Meet Friday at the VC Sportsplex with the men finishing second and the women fourth of the six competing schools. Trevor McCarthy. Micah Contreras Jacson Cutting and Cole Everett all had gold medal performaces for the men and Chloe Williams produced the women's lone first place finish.

Pirates Compete at LBCC Viking Invitational

The VC men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Viking Invitational hosted by Long Beach City College Friday. Kevin Ramirez won the 500m run to lead the men while the 4x100m relay team also claimed gold with the 10th fastest time in program history. Brianna Torres won first again in the 500m for the VC women and Elizabeth Mejia and Ashley Crist each won silver medals in the 400m hurdles and long jomp events, respectively.

Pirate Track Finishes 1st, 2nd at WSC North

The VC men's track and field team used sweeps in the 100m and 200m to claim first place of the five competing teams at the Western State Conference North meet Friday at Cuesta. The Pirate women came in second in the event. Trevor McCarthy won the 200m and the javelin to lead Ventura while Jason Cutting, Shaun Tolson, and Max Daniel also claimed individual gold. Brianna Torres claimed a pair of golds for the VC women and Marygrace Wilson and Elizabeth Mejia also won events.

VC Track an Field Hosts Pirate Invitational

Ventura College track and field hosted the first-ever Pirate Invitational Saturday at the VC Sportsplex, providing a great opportunity for the Pirate athletes to open their season at home. The meet was a non-scored event, allowing valuable early-season competition experience. Marygrace Wilson took full advantage of the opportunity with golds in the 100m and 200m while Brianna Torres won the 5000m. Both the women's and men's 4x100m relay team also broke the tape first.
