Sindle Makes Sweet 16 Before Bowing Out At The Ojai

Pirate sophomore Bailey Sindle closed her career in the orange and black by qualifying for the Sweet 16 of the CCCAA State Championships at The Ojai Tournament Friday before bowing out. Her run featured a pair of upset victories before falling to the draw's No. 3 seed. Meanwhile, Sindle and doubles partner Lea Meschke made it to the Round of 32 before falling Friday.

Sindle & Meschke Advance at The Ojai

Bailey Sindle and Lea Meschke upset their way into the round of 32 Thursday in doubles competition at the CCCAA State Chamionships held at The Ojai Tournament Thursday . Playing at the VC Tennis Center for the first two days of the draw, the Pirate duo defeated the No. 13 seed in the Round of 64 to advance in play Friday. Meanwhile, Sindle won a pair of matches in the singled bracket to continue her season on Friday as well.

Third VC Women's Doubles Team Qualifies for Ojai

The Pirates' women's doubles team of Allie De Marco and Luciana Muheison joined VC's other two doubles pairs in qualifying for the CCCAA State Championships at The Ojai Tournament on day two of the Western State Conference Championships Saturday. Meanwhile, Bailey Sindle and Lea Meschke qualified for The Ojai in singles play, wrapping up a full weekend of tennis.

VC sophomore Megan Fleming and doubles partner Alyssa Powell moved into the Western State Conference quarterfinals, qualifying for The Ojai Tournament later this month during Friday's play at the WSC Championships at Camino Real Park.
Two Doubles Teams Qualify for Ojai

The Pirates' women's tennis team had a two doubles pairs qualify for the CCCAA State Championships at the Ojai Tournament later this month. The duos of Bailey Sindle and Lea Meschke, and Megan Fleming and Alyssa Powell each won their first match in the Western State Conference Championships Friday at Camino Real Park in Ventura. Additionally, Sindle and Meschke advanced to the round of 16 in singles play in the tournament.

Pirate Women Close Regular Season With Upset Win

The Pirates' women's tennis team saved their biggest victory for last as they upset NorCal No. 1-ranked De Anza 5-4 Saturday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. Bailey Sindle was a double winner for Ventura (6-10, 4-8*). with a victory ion No. 1 singles and she teamed up with Lea Meschke for a win in No. 1 doubles. Allie De Marco was also a double winner in No. 6 singles and with Luciana Muheison in No. 3 doubles.

VC Women Fall to Bakersfield in Home Match

Playing the first of four home matches this week, the Ventura College women's tennis team fell to visiting Bakersfield 6-3 Tuesday at the VC Tennis Center. Bailey Sindle was a double winner, prevailing in No. 1 singles and with Lea Meschke in No. 1 doubles. Allie De Marco was the other winner for the Pirates (5-10, 3-8*).

Allie De Marco earned points with wins at No. 6 singles and with Luciana Muheison at No. 3 doubles, but the Pirates fell at Santa Monica 7-2 Thursday in conference play.
Women's Tennis Falls at Santa Monica

The VC women's tennis team fell at Santa Monica 7-2 Thursday in Western State Conference play. Allie De Marco earned a point for VC (5-9, 3-7*) with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles, and paired with Luciana Muheison for a victory in the No. 3 doubles match 8-4.

Alyssa Powell did not drop a game Thursday, winning in No. 3 singles, love and love, and pairing with Megan Fleming to win in No. 2 doubles, 8-0.
Pirate Women Make Long Drive For Victory

The VC women's tennis team made the long drive to Victorville Thursday and came home with a 9-0 win over host Victor Valley. The Pirates lost just one game on the day against the Rams, who competed without players in the Nos. 5 and 6 singles and No. 3 doubles slots, All Pirate wins by default.

Luciana Muheison produced two victories Friday for the VC women's tennis team in their 6-3 loss to Cerritos.  She won in No. 5 singles and paired with Allie De Marco to win in No. 3 doubles.
Women's Tennis Falls to Cerritos, 6-3

The Ventura College women's tennis team were defeated by Cerritos 6-3 Friday afternoon at the VC Tennis Center. Luciana Muheison and Allie De Marco provided all of the points of the Pirates (4-7, 2-5*) with wins at Nos. 5 and 6 singles, respectively, and together in No. 3 doubles.

VC sophomore Bailey Sindle won her No. 1 singles match, but the Pirates fell to defeat at Santa Barbara 7-2 on Thursday afternoon.
Women's Tennis Falls at Santa Barbara

Bailey Sindle and Allie De Marco each won singles matches, but the Ventura College women's tennis team lost at Santa Barbara Thursday, 7-2. Sindle won in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-1 and De Marco prevailed in No. 6 singles, 5-7, 6-0, 6-2, but those were the only points VC (4-6, 2-6) was able to score in the contest.

Ventura freshman Alyssa Powell won her No. 4 singles match, but the Pirates fell 6-3 to visiting Glendale Tuesday at the VC Tennis Center.
Women's Tennis Defeated by Glendale Vaqueros

For the second time in six days, the Pirates' women's tennis team was defeated by Glendale College. Tuesday, Ventura fell to the Vaqueros 6-3 at the VC Tennis Center. Lea Meschke (No. 3), Alyssa Powell (No. 4) and Allie De Marco (No. 6) all won in singles competition for the Pirates (4-5, 2-5*).

Allie De Marco won her No. 6 singles match, and paired with Luciana Muheison at No. 3 doubles for another victory in VC's 7-2 defeat at Glendale Thursday.
VC Women Fall at Glendale College

The VC women's tennis team fell 7-2 Thursday afternoon at Glendale College in a make-up match for a Feb. 7 rain-out. Allie De Marco figured in both points for the Pirates (4-4, 2-4*), coming from behind to win her No. 6 singles match, 5-7, 7-6 (1), 10-2 and teaming up with Luciana Muheison at No. 3 doubles, producing a 9-7 triumph.

Bailey Sindle won her No. 1 singles match, and teamed up with Lea Meschke for a victory in No. 1 doubles, but the Pirates lost a narrow 5-4 decision at Bakersfield Tuesday.
Pirate Women Drop Close Decision in Bakersfield

The VC women's tennis team nearly pulled out the upset. The Pirates lost a narrow 5-4 decision on the road at conference-leading Bakersfield Tuesday afternoon by two points in the final doubles match of the day. Bailey Sindle and Lea Meschke combined to score three wins for Ventura ( 4-3, 1-3) in Nos. 1 and 3 singles respectively, and in No. 1 doubles. Allie De marco score dthe fourth point for Ventura with a win at the No. 6 singles slot.

Women's Tennis Claims Two Weekend Matches

The Ventura College women's tennis team prevailed in a pair of matches at the Ventura College Tennis Center this weekend. On Friday, the Pirtes defeated Grossmont 5-2 before coming from behind against Saddleback on Saturday, 5-4. Luciana Muheison and Allie De Marco each posted two victories in singles play in the two matches for the Pirates (4-2, 1-2).

Allie De Marco teamed up with Luciana Muheison for a victory in No. 3 doubles, and she extended her No. 5 singles match to three sets in the Pirates contest with Santa Monica Thursday.
Women's Tennis Falls At Home vs. Santa Monica

The VC women's tennis team found the road a difficult one at home Thursday, falling 7-2 to visiting Santa Moncia. Luciana Muheison played a part in both of the Pirates' points, winning in No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0, and teaming up with Allie De Marco for the 8-0 sweep in No. 3 doubles.

Megan Fleming was victorious in No. 2 singles Tuesday for VC as the Pirates swept Antelope Valley 9-0 in Western State Conference action in Lancaster.
Women's Tennis Sweeps Antelope Valley

The desert was dry Tuesday, and the Pirates were hot. Ventura had a solid effort sweeping the host Antelope Valley College Marauders 9-0 in women's tennis on the road in conference action. Bailey Sindle, Megan Fleming, Lea Meschke and Alyssa Powell all posted victories for the Pirates in singles action.
