Women's Tennis Defeated by Glendale Vaqueros

For the second time in six days, the Pirates' women's tennis team was defeated by Glendale College. Tuesday, Ventura fell to the Vaqueros 6-3 at the VC Tennis Center.  Lea Meschke (No. 3), Alyssa Powell (No. 4) and Allie De Marco (No. 6) all won in singles competition for the Pirates (4-5, 2-5*).

De Marco made easy work of her opponent in the No. 6 singles slot, posting a 6-1, 6-2 victory. Powell had to work a little harder at No. 4 singles, recording the 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) win. Meschke came back after dropping the first set in No. 3 singles, playing to a 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 three-set triumph.

The Pirates will travel to Santa Barbara on Thursday March 9 before hosting Cerritos on Friday March 10. Thursday's match is set for 2:00 pm and Friday's will begin at 12:00 pm.
