Women's Polo Competes in San Diego Tournaments
The VC women's water polo teams competed at the Miramar and Jaguar Mini Tournaments at San Diego Miaramar and Southwestern Colleges, respectively on Firday and Saturday. Julia Glukhovsky and Abigail Humphry led the Pirates offensively over the weekend and Parker Pratt led a pair of goalies who worked in the cage in San Diego.

The VC women's water polo teams competed at the Miramar and Jaguar Mini Tournaments at San Diego Miramar and Southwestern Colleges, respectively on Friday and Saturday. Julia Glukhovsky and Abigail Humphry led the Pirates offensively over the weekend and Parker Pratt led a pair of goalies who worked in the cage in San Diego.
In Friday's opener at San Diego Miramar College, the Pirates hung tough with Palomar, falling 15-9. Humphry led the effort with three goals and a pair of ejections drawn while Audrey Hernendez handed out three assists. The Pirates goalies split time in the cage and also contributed in the field as Pratt had two goals and an assist to go along with seven saves while Bella Bruno also scored twice with two helpers along with four saves in the cage.
VC earned a 5-0 forfeit win over San Diego Mesa in Friday's nightcap as the Olympians were unable to field a complete team to begin the game due to injuries suffered earlier in the day.
Ventura dropped a decision to Miramar in Saturday's first game at Southwestern College in Chula Vista. Glukhovsky scored four goals while drawing three ejections and grabbing two steals on defense. Humphry scored a goal while handing out two assists and pulling in four steals as Avery Monson and Ami Cruz also recorded four steals each.
In the weekend finale, the Pirates fell to Fullerton. Glukhovsky, Cruz and Pratt all scored goals in the effort for VC.
The Pirates will next open Western State Conference play on Wednesday Sept. 24 at Santa Barbara.
