The Pirates' women's tennis team has again earned distinction as an All-Academic Team as honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association while all eight team members were named Junior College Women's Scholar Athletes by the ITA as released last week. The Pirates posted a 3.76 overall grade point average in the spring 2022 semester to be one of 14 teams, one of eight from California, to be recognized nationally.
The Pirates' women's tennis team had their 2022 season come to an end on Saturday at the Southern California Regionals at Cypress College. VC's doubles team of Hanna Dever and Victoria Zegers dropped their match against a duo from Grossmont to close the season one victory shy of a berth in the CCCAA State Championships. Dever also fell one win short in singles play on Friday.

The VC women's tennis team fell in its final team match of the 2022 season 9-0 at Orange Coast Friday in Costa Mesa. The shorthanded Ventura team, which did not field No. 3 doubles or No. 6 singles competitors, still gave a strong effort despite the final result.
