Lumas, Decierdo and Lopez Earn 1st Team All-WSC Awards
The VC women's basketball team was well-represented on the 2025-26 Western State Conference North Division women's basketball all-conference team with Kayla Lumas, Olivia Decierdo and Riannah Lopez all earning first team All-WSC accolades. Charnelle Nichols was also honord with an honorable-mention All-WSC award.

Lumas, a freshman, led the Pirates this past season scoring 14.0 points per game while grabbing 5.9 rebounds and 2.3 steals per outing. The Oxnard High School product also led the team shooting nearly 75 percent from the foul line while starting 25 games in the orange and black.
Decierdo, also a first-year player, netted nine points per game while handing out a team-best 2.8 assists. Defensively, the Buena High School graduate led the team with a 2.4 steals per game average in 22 games played.
Lopez, also in her first year at VC from Buena High School, scored 10.5 points per game while making a team-high 33 3-pointers in 25 games played. She also pulled in five boards per outing and handed out 1.2 assists per game.
Nichols, who just completed her sophomore season for VC, averaged a team-high 6.0 rebounds per game while scoring 7.4 points. The former Oxnard Yellowjacket also had 1.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
The Pirates finished the season with a 15-14 overall record with an 8-4 WSC mark, finishing third in the conference. They also qualified for the 3C2A Southern California Regional Playoffs, falling in the opening round of play.
