VC Women's Basketball Returns to the Postseason
The VC women's basketball team is returning to the postseason after finishing 15-13 during the 2025-26 campaign and 8-4 in Western State Conference play. The Pirates are seeded No. 22 and will travel to No. 11 Long Beach on Wednesday Feb. 25 for a first round match up with the Vikings in the 3C2A Southern California Regional Playoffs.

The Pirates are seeded No. 22 and will travel to No. 11 Long Beach on Wednesday Feb. 25 for a first round match up with the Vikings in the 3C2A Southern California Regional Playoffs.
Ventura finished third in the WSC North Division. Meanwhile, the Vikings finished first in the South Coast Conference South Division. The teams have not played this season.
The Pirates are led by All-WSC forward Kayla Lumas who averaged 13.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. All-WSC guard Riannah Lopez is netting 10.8 points and grabbing 5.1 boards per outing and All-WSC point guard Olivia Decierdo scores 8.9 points per game with 2.8 assists. Honorable mention All-WSC guard/forward Charnelle Nichols scores 7.3 points and pulls in 5.7 caroms per game.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm at the LBCC Hall of Champions Gymnasium. Tickets prices, set by the 3C2A, are $13 for general admission and $9 for Students, Faculty, Staff, Seniors and Children under 12. Tickets can be pre-purchased online at this link.
The winner of Wednesday night's game will travel to No. 6 Cypress on Saturday Feb. 28.
