McKenzie, Coubal Named First Team All-WSC
Ventura sophomores Sam McKenzie and Alexa Coubal were both named first team all-Western State Conference for their performance during the 2024-25 season. It is the second All-WSC honor for both players as they earned the same distinction in 2023-24.
Ventura sophomores Sam McKenzie and Alexa Coubal were both named first team all-Western State Conference for their performance during the 2024-25 season. It is the second All-WSC honor for both players as they earned the same distinction in 2023-24.
McKenzie, an Oxnard High School graduate, led the Pirates scoring 15.7 points per game during the season. She totaled 4.7 rebounds per outing and averaged 1.5 steals and 2.8 assists. In WSC North Division play she upped her scoring to 16.6 points with 4.4 boards, 3.4 assists and 1.8 steals.
Coubal, meanwhile, averaged a double-double for the second straight season. The Thousand Oaks High School product posted 13.3 points and 12.6 caroms per outing, shooting 56 percent from the floor and a record 86 percent at the free throw line. In conference games, Coubal averaged 15.6 points and 13.3 caroms.
Ventura finished the season with a 1014 overall record and a 5-7 mark in WSC play.
