VC Women Earn No. 5 Seed in Regional Playoffs
The Ventura College women's basketball team has earned the No. 5 seed in the CCCAA SoCal Regional Playoffs. Ventura (23-9) will host No. 12 Rio Hondo College (16-14) on Friday Mar. 1 at 7:00 pm at the Athletic Event Center. VC defeated the Roadrunners 64-49 earlier this season on Dec. 29 in the semifinals of the VC-Optimist Club Holiday Tournament.

Admission for Friday's contest is set by the CCCAA. General Admission is $12.oo and $8.00 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children less than 12 years of age.
The Pirates, winners of 13 of their last 16 games, were second place in the Western State Conference North Division while Rio Hondo finished fifth in the uber-competitive South Coast Conference North Division.
On the other side of the bracket, No. 4 Mt. San Antonio will host No. 13 Irvine Valley on Saturday Mar. 2, with the winners meeting on Saturday March 9.
The CCCAA State Tournament will be held in Ventura on March 15-17 at the VC Athletic Event Center.
