Estrella WSC PoY, Magana, Soto and Sanchez first team All-WSC
VC pitcher Emma Estrella was named the Western State Conference North Division Pitcher of the Year while Baylany Magana, Samantha Soto and Erika Sanchez all earned first team All-WSC honors in voting by the conference coaches. Pirate head coach Julia Tamai was voted the WSC North Coach of the Year after leading Ventura to its second straight conference crown with a 12-0 record, the program's first undefeated WSC season since 1981.

Estrella, a freshman from Fillmore, pitched in nine of the Pirates 12 WSC North games, producing a 7-0 record with two saves and a 0.83 earned run average. She struck out 55 batters in 42.1 innings pitched while posting a 0.82 WHIP. On the season, she overcame early injury issues to appear in 24 games, starting 14, with a 10-6 record with four saves. She had a 3.01 ERA on the year with 139 K's in 107.0 innings pitched. Estrella also recorded a .900 fielding percentage on the year.
Magana, a sophomore, slashed .364/.442/.392 for VC on the year with a .475/.543/.575 stat line in conference play. She led the team with 44 runs scored and 25 stolen bases in 42 games played on the year. She also was 2-0 in five starts in conference play in the circle with 19 strike outs in 23.2 innings. On the year she won eight games in 21 starts with 87 K's in 118.1 innings pitched. The Oxnard High School alumna also had a .971 fielding percentage as a pitcher and in the outfield for the season.
Soto, a first-year Pirate from Camarillo High School, provided power in the VC line-up. She hit .442/.527/.617 in 39 games in 2026, turning it up to .595/.630/.865 in 11 conference contests. She had a team-best 18 extra-base hits on the year and knocked in 27 runs while scoring 38 times. She also produced a .980 fielding percentage in right field.
Sanchez, also a sophomore, was one of VC's best run-producers in their balanced 2026 line-up. She was second on the team with 30 RBI on the year while slashing .312/.371/.420. The Fillmore High School product totaled 43 base hits in 42 games played and also recorded a field percentage of .906 primarily from center field.
Sophomore Sophia Valencia along with freshmen Isabella Padilla, Jayla Raya and Zayra Landeros all earned second team All-WSC accolades while sophomore Aubrey Aguirre and first-year Layah Hicks were named honorable mention All-WSC.
Tamai, VC's second-year coach, earned her second Coach of the Year Award after leading VC to back-to-back WSC titles for the first time since 2004 and 2005.
The Pirates finish the season with an overall record of 22-20-1. It was a tale of two seasons for Ventura as they dropped 13 of the first 17 games before winning 18 of their final 25 contests.
