Pirates Sixth at WSC No. 4 in Santa Maria

The VC golf team found difficulty in carding low scores Monday, finishing sixth of eight teams at he Western State Conference No. 4 event hosted by Allan Hancock College at Santa Maria Country Club. The Pirates turned a team score of 412, led by AJ Ryland's 5-over 77 and Zack Garboski's 7-over 79.

Other Ventura golfers competing and their scores included Nicolai Cascione, 84, Joshua Calderon, 85, Nathan Long, 87 and Elijah Delsi, 88.

Canyons won the event to remain unbeaten in WSC matches with a team score of 363 and Santa Barbara came in second with a 379. Glendale and Citrus were a close third and fourth at 385 and 386, respectively.

The Pirates get a chance at redemption on Monday March 13 with the WSC event at Antelope Valley Country Club.
