Great Conditions, Low Scores Prevail at WSC No. 4 in Bakersfield

Under good scoring conditions at Stockdale Country Club, the VC golf team posted its second-lowest score of the season at the Western State Conference No. 4 hosted by Bakersfield College. Unfortunately for the Pirates, front-running Canyons and Santa Barbara also went low as Ventura placed third out of eight participating teams. Mason Teron shot a 1-over 73 to post the low score for the Pirates, good for a tie for ninth place overall.

CoC shot an even-par 355 as a team to run away with the event and Santa Barbara posted a season-best 367 to come in second. Ventura had a 383, followed by bakersfield at 392 and Antelope Valley at 406.

Jake Yasutake and Kaden Santos finished at 3-over 75 and 4-over 76, respectively, and Steen Zeman carded a 79. Michael Ray shot an 80 and Tyler Herrera turned in an 82 for the Pirates.

Ventura returns to the course on Monday march 9 at the WSC No. 5 hosted by Allan Hancock College.
