Breslin, Duckett and Watson Named CCCFCA All-Americans
The post season awards continue to roll in for the Pirate football team as offensive lineman Scott Breslin, running back Thomas Duckett and defensive back Jaylen Watson were all named California Community College Football Coaches Association First Team All-Americans as released by the JC Athletic Bureau on Tuesday. The three led the Pirates to the best finish in the 94-year history of Ventura College football, an 11-2 overall record, the Southern California Football Association championship, and a state runner-up finish.

Breslin, a 6-foot-4-inch sophomore offensive tackle from Burbank High School, anchored one of the best offensive lines in program history.
Duckett, meanwhile, the SCFA Offensive Player of the Year, became just the 11th Pirate to surpass the 1,000 yard mark on the ground. The Pacifica High School product gained 1,128 yards rushing on 194 carries, good for sixth all-time. He also had 252 receiving yards on 21 catches. He also had 177 kick return yards for a total of 1,557 all-purpose yards on the season. Duckett scored 12 touchdowns on the season, 10 on the ground and two via the pass.
Watson, a CCCFCA All-American as a freshman, recorded 43 tackles, 39 solo, with 13 pass break-ups. The sophomore from Augusta, GA had four interceptions on the season, and returned 10 punts for 163 total yards.
The trio of Pirate All-Americans were joined by two teammates as first-team All-State.
Sophomore tight end Travis Koontz, from Austintown, OH, joined Breslin and Duckett as a first team All-State honoree on offense. Meanwhile, outside linebacker Trennan Carlson, a sophomore who originally hails from Ventura, earned first team All-State honors on defense, joining Watson.
Pirate head coach Steve Mooshagian was named the Southern California Coach of the Year. Additionally, Mooshagian was named the American Football Coaches Association National Community College Coach of the Year last week.
