Women's Polo competes at Cerritos Mini
The VC women's water polo team competed at the Cerritos Mini Tournament, coming up short against Golden West in the opener before falling to the host Falcons in the nightcap. Julia Glukhovsky netted four goals on the day for the Pirates and Abigail Humphry had a pair of scores. Avery Monson led the defensive effort wit three steals in the two games and Bella Bruno recorded 14 saves in goal.

In the opener, VC fell to Golden West 17-4. Glukhovsky scored twice with two ejections drawn and a steal on defense. Humphry found the inside of the cage once with an assist and two ED's while Ami Cruz also scored for Ventura and pulled in three thefts. Monson also grabbed three steals and Alex Williams recorded two steals. Bruno turned back seven Rustler shots in the cage.
in the nightcap, Ventura hung with Cerritos, dropping a 10-4 decision. Glukhovsky again led the effort with a pair of goals, and three drawn ejections and Stevie Sturges scored once with an assist and two steals. Humphry scores once with two ED's and Monson had an assist, a steal, and one ED. Parker Pratt totaled nine saves in the cage and Bruno tallied seven saves.
The Pirates' next scheduled game with Santa Monica on Wednesday Oct. 8 has been canceled as the Corsairs have suspended their program for the season. Ventura returns to action at home on Friday Oct. 10 against Modesto and Pasadena in the Ventura Tournament.
