The Ventura College women's water polo team continued to shine with two more victories Friday at the Battle at the Beach at Cerritos College. The Pirates defeated Golden West 17-8 in the first game of the day before beating Rio Hondo 20-8 in the nightcap. Anna Lowe scored eight goals in the two games while Megan Findlay netted seven. Lauren Mora found the inside of the cage six times on the day Friday for Ventura (17-4, 4-1), the No. 9-ranked team in the state.

Women's Polo Runs Away From Brahmas

In a game in which all 13 field players scored for the Pirates' women's water polo team,. VC ran away from visiting LA Pierce 19-5 Friday afternoon at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Megan Findlay had four goals in leading the rout over the Brahmas, and Emmie Johnston, Lauren Pierce and Bryanna Soto each scored twice. Katie Falls had nine saves in goal for Ventura (14-3, 3-1).

The VC women's water polo team scored four goals in the first two-plus minutes of the opening period en route to an 18-4 runaway victory over host Santa Monica on Wednesday in Western State Conference play. Natalia Rodriguez and Lauren Pierce each netted three goals to pace VC (13-3, 2-1) and Fiona Watkins scored twice with four assists and four steals. Sierra Cameron had three assists and a pair of thefts in the Pirate win.

Pirate Polo Wins Two of Three at Ventura Tourney

The VC women's water polo team won two of three games during day one of the Ventura Tournament Friday at the Ventura Aquatic Center. After dropping the opener to Fullerton 14-9, VC defeated Golden West 11-5 and ran away from Pasadena 16-5. Lauren Mora scored nine goals with four assists and four steals, and she added five saves in the cage in relief in game three, to lead Ventura (11-3, 1-1). Megan Findlay found the inside of the cage eight times with five helpers and four steals on the day. Katie Falls recorded 26 saves in goal.

The Ventura College women's water polo team prevailed in a pair of games Friday at the San Diego Classic at Miramar College on Friday. VC held off Palomar in the first game of the day, posting a 13-10 win before defeating host Miramar 18-8 in the nightcap. Lauren Mora led the offense with 10 goals while Katie Falls recorded 30 saves on the day with seven steals.

Pirates Open WSC Play With Victory Over LAVC

The game seemed to be over almost as soon as it started. The Pirates' women's water polo team was tied 1-1 with visiting Los Angeles Valley two minutes into play before reeling off 10 straight goals over the next 10 minutes of game time to settle the outcome of their Western State Conference opener Wednesday at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Katie Falls led the defensive effort with 13 saves in the cage while Megan Findlay and Anna Lowe scored six and five goals, respectively, to lead the offense.
