Volleyball Headed to Playoffs with No. 10 Seed
The Ventura College volleyball team is headed back to the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Pirates (16-9) earne dthe No. 10 seed, receiving a first round bye. VC will head to No. 7 Mt. San Antonio College (21-5) in a second round match-up on Tuesday Nov. 25 at 6:00 pm.

Ventura finished the season ranked No. 15 in the final CCCWVCA state rankings. They finished fourth in the Western State Conference North Division, a league that featured four of the top 15 ranked teams in the state. The Pirates played 15 matches against opponents in the 20-team SoCal bracket with a 6-9 record in those contests. VC has recorded wins against No. 4 Santa Barbara, No. 9 Desert, No. 16 San Bernardino Valley, No. 17 Canyons, No. 18 Mt. San Jacinto and No. 20 Citrus.
Mt. San Antonio, meanwhile, was placed No. 9 in the final state rankings. They were the champions of the South Coast Conference North Division. They played 12 matches against playoff teams, including 10 from Southern California, winning seven. The Mounties docket features victories against No. 5 (NorCal) Fresno, No. 6 Moorpark, No. 8 San Diego Miramar, No. 12 Pasadena twice, No. 14 Long Beach and No. 18 Mt. San Jacinto.
The winner of Tuesday's contest will take on the winner of No. 2 Los Angeles Mission and the winner of No. 15 MiraCosta/No. 18 Mt. San Jacinto on Saturday Nov. 29 in the SoCal Regional Finals.
