Volleyball Sweeps WSC Opener at LA Mission
Led by Brittney Mukhar's double-double and 13 kills from Paris Dosch, the Pirate volleyball team swept its Western Conference opener at Los Angeles Mission College, 25-14, 25-21, 25-11 in San Fernando Friday evening. Ranked No. 12 in Southern California, VC posted its 12th victory of the season, equaling its win total from 2014 with virtually the entire conference season remaining.

Mukhar put away 11 kills and had 10 digs on the night as she and Dosch led the Pirate offense. Jaimelene Salgado handed out 36 assists and had three services aces for Ventura (12-2, 1-0) and Cassandra Lacanilao recorded 16 digs and two aces. Armonee Hunter had six kills and a pair of blocks in the victory.
Ventura next hosts Cuesta College on Wednesday Oct. 7 for a 7:00 pm match at the Athletic Event Center.
