Women's Soccer Falls at Santa Barbara
The VC women's soccer team dropped a Western State Conference game Tuesday night at Santa Barbara. Despite a strong effort from sophomore defender Tanaya Moreno, the Pirates dropped a 3-0 decision to the Vaqueros at La Playa Stadium.

The VC women's soccer team dropped a Western State Conference game Tuesday night at Santa Barbara. Despite a strong effort from sophomore defender Tanaya Moreno, the Pirates dropped a 3-0 decision to the Vaqueros at La Playa Stadium.
SBCC took a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick in the 14th minute and scored again 10 minutes later.
The VC offense struggled to sustain an attack in the opening half, managing two shots total, one on goal. The Vaqueros, on the other hand,had 10 shots,five on target, in the opening 45 minutes.
The second half was nearly a stalemate, with Santa Barbara finding the back of the net in the 90th minute of play to set the final margin.
Ventura totaled six shots overall with two on goal.
The Pirates (56-3, 2-2-1) will next travel to Oxnard on Friday Oct. 17 to complete the first round of WSC play.
