Soccer Ends Skid With Shutout Win at Bakersfield
The VC women's soccer team ended a four-game losing streak and a three-game road trip with a solid 3-0 victory at Bakersfield College Saturday night. Audrey Castillo had a goal and an assist and goalie Eva Mcmillan recorded four saves in the victory for Ventura (4-7-1).

The VC women's soccer team ended a four-game losing streak and a three-game road trip with a solid 3-0 victory at Bakersfield College Saturday night. Audrey Castillo had a goal and an assist and goalie Eva Mcmillan recorded four saves in the victory for Ventura.
The Pirates (4-7-1) took a 1-0 advantage in the 36th minute when Castillo assisted a goal by Carolina Apodaca Morales. After halftime VC pdoubled the margin in the 55th minute with Castillo's goal assisted by Paulina Aldrete. Ventura put the match out of reach with a goal in the 84th minute by Sierra Patton, assisted by Paola Gonzalez.
In the match, the Pirates took 18 shots with 12 on goal.
VC opens a 3-game homestand and closed non-conference play on Tuesday Oct. 3 hosting Citrus. The match kicks off at 6:00 pm at the VC Sportsplex.
