Ventura Drops Decision at Santa Monica
The Pirate soccer team dropped another close contest Tuesday night, 2-1 at Santa Monica College. Ventura received a goal from Miranda Vasquez in the 45th minute of the first half, a header redirect with an assist from Eleni Brojon. The VC goal halved their deficit at intermission, but the team was unable to find the equalizer in the second half.

The Pirate soccer team dropped another close contest Tuesday night, 2-1 at Santa Monica College. Ventura received a goal from Miranda Vasquez in the 45th minute of the first half, a header redirect with an assist from Eleni Borjon. The VC goal halved their deficit at intermission, but the team was unable to find the equalizer in the second half.
Santa Monica took the early lead on the Pirates (3-7-1) with a goal in the 18th minute. The Corsairs doubled their margin in the 32nd minute.
Ventura had 11 shots in the game with three on frame in the match.
VC will travel to Bakersfield on Friday Sept. 29 for a 7:00 pm match before returning home to face Citrus on Tuesday Oct. 3 at 6:00 pm at the Sportsplex.
