The Pirate soccer team had an unfortunate result Saturday to close their Northern California road trip, dropping a 1-0 decision at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose. The lone score of the day came from an own-goal by the Pirates in the fourth minute of the contest. The Pirates (1-2-1) had 15 shots in the game, seven on goal, but they could not find the back of the net. Amy Neidiffer had a pair of saves in goal in the first half, and Marissa Dominguez played her first minutes of the season in the second, recording four saves.
VC will head to Orange County on Wednesday Sept. 9 to face Santiago Canyon College in a 4:00 pm match-up.
