VC Soccer Holds On for 1-0 Win at Oxnard
The Pirate soccer team found an unlikely source for its game-winning goal Friday. Freshman defender Melissa Cardenas scored her first collegiate goal to lead the Pirates past Oxnard 1-0 on the road in Western State Conference play Friday afternoon.

The Pirate soccer team found an unlikely source for its game-winning goal Friday. Freshman defender Melissa Cardenas scored her first collegiate goal to lead the Pirates past Oxnard 1-0 on the road in Western State Conference play Friday afternoon.
Cardenas cashed in an assist from Abigail Littleton in the first half of play. The Pirates (6-2-2, 2-0-1) held on the rest of the way for the conference win.
Ventura will return home for the first time in over a month as they host Pierce College on Tuesday Oct. 14 at 6:00 pm at the VC Sportsplex.
