WOMEN'S SOCCER: Fighting for their Western State Conference lives, the Pirates' women's soccer team overcame an early Moorpark goal, netting their own score in stoppage time at the end of the first half, managing a 1-1 draw with the Raiders Friday afternoon. MC scored in the fifth minute and Ashley Borrell answered for VC (9-3-2, 4-2-1) on the assist by Guadalupe Magaña as the first half came to a close. The teams were scoreless in the second half for the 1-1 result.
Ventura will travel to Cuesta on Tuesday Oct. 29 and visit Oxnard on Friday Nov. 1. Both matches are scheduled for 4:00 pm kickoffs.
