Bio

Linda Wright enters her fifth season in an "official" capacity as an assistant coach in 2026. She has also directed the Pirates' women's water polo program for eight seasons after assisting with the program for three years.

Wright entered her 12th year at Ventura College in the fall, her eighth guiding the women's water polo team as Head Coach. Coach Wright also spent time as the head girls' water polo coach at Rio Mesa High School where she guided the Spartans to two Pacific View League Titles, earned PVL Coach of the Year and the 2017 CIF Southern Section Coach of the Year.

Prior to VC, Wright had a successful career with Hanford High in Central California. Wright led the Lady Pups to the CIF Central Section championship game three straight years after winning the titles in 2012 and 2013. She also attained three West Yosemite League titles over her five year run with Hanford.

Additionally, Linda is a team manager for the USA Women's Water Polo National Team. After joining USA Water Polo in 2012 as the team manager for the Women's Development team, Wright quickly found her way to the Cadet National Team and an ODP Central Zone Coach. She enjoys international travel with Team USA, where she has been part of the delegation earning gold at the Junior Pan Americans in Argentina (2013), Jamaica (2015) , Peru (2017) and also the Hungarian National Water Polo Tournament in 2014. In 2016, Linda earned the prestigious Brent Bohlender Distinguished Coaching Award, a National USA Water Polo honor.

Linda earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California. She is married to her college sweetheart, Justin. They have three children, Bradley, Eric and Meghan (all water polo players). Linda enjoys yoga and travel. She relocated to Ventura in 2015 and has enjoyed becoming a part of the Ventura community.
