Pirate Swimmers Compete at WSC Championships

In their final competition of the season, the Ventura College swim and dive teams competed at the Western State Conference Championships Friday and Saturday at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo. Caitlin Potter led the effort for the women with three individual golds while Arturo Medina won two golds for the men on Saturday. In Friday's diving competition, Roman Becher also brought home a pair of golds.

Collin Spargur led the VC men on Friday with three first place finishes in their double dual meet with Santa Monica at Mt. San Antonio College. the Pirate men split their duals with the Mounties and Corsairs while the VC women won both duals.
Swim & Dive Competes in Double Dual Meet at Mt. SAC

The VC men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed at a double dual meet at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut on Friday, taking on the host Mounties and Santa Monica College. The Pirate men defeated the Corsairs and lost to Mt. SAC while the women won both duals. Collin Spargur and Arturo Medina led the men with three golds each while Caitlin Potter and Sierra Limneos each won three individual races for the women.

Pirate swimmer Sierra Limneos had a pair of first place finishes Saturday in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events and finished third in the 200-yard individual medley. The VC men and women were competing in San Luis Obispo against Cuesta and Allan Hancock in a non-scoring meet.
Potter Sets School Record As Swimmers Compete in San Luis Obispo.

The Pirates' men's and women's swimming and diving teams traveled north to San Luis Obispo Saturday to compete in a non-scoring meet against Cuesta and Allan Hancock colleges. Caitlin Potter had the highlight of the day, setting a new school record in the 200 yard backstroke while Sierra Limneos had a pair of first place finishes. For the men, Roman Becher had a gold and a bronze and also was a top performer in diving.

Pirate swimmer Atruro Medina had three individual golds on Saturday against Santa Monica and was a part of two winning relay teams. The VC men defeated the Corsairs 133-84 while the Pirate women won 136-76.
VC Swim Teams Win Duals Against Santa Monica

The Pirates' men's and women's swim teams were victorious again on Saturday defeating visiting Santa Monica in both dual meets. The VC men defeated the corsairs 133-84 while the Ventura women triumphed 136-76. Arturo Medina and Collin Spargur were both dominant with three individual golds on the day along with two relay wins and Caitlin Potter matched on the women's side with three individual first-place finishes along with two relay golds.

VC freshman Caitlin Potter had three individual golds and was also part of two winning relays for the Pirates as they defeated Allan Hancock College in a dual 160-60 Saturday in the 2021 season opener. The VC men also defeated the Bulldogs 116-95.
Pirates Return to Pool With a Pair of Dual Wins

Ventura College's men's and women's swimming and diving teams returned to competition on Saturday with a pair of dual wins against visiting Allan Hancock College. The Pirate women defeated the Bulldogs 160-60 while the men's team won over AHC 116-95. Caitlin Potter led the women with three individual wins and a pair of relay golds while Arturo Medina also posted a trio of gold medal individual finishes along with two firsts in relays.
