Estrella Named to 3CFCA All-State Team
First-year Pirate pitcher Emma Estrella has been named to the 3CFCA All-State Team. The Fillmore High School product was also name dthe Western State COnference North Division Pitcher of the Year after overcoming early season injuries to lead VC to a perfect 12-0 conference mark and into the 3C2A Southern California Playoffs.

Estrella overcame early injury issues to appear in 24 games, starting 14, with a 10-6 record with four saves. She had a 3.01 ERA on the year with 139 K's in 107.0 innings pitched. Estrella also recorded a .900 fielding percentage on the year. She pitched in nine of the Pirates 12 WSC North games, producing a 7-0 record with two saves and a 0.83 earned run average. She struck out 55 batters in 42.1 innings pitched while posting a 0.82 WHIP in conference play.
The Pirates finish the season with an overall record of 22-20-1. It was a tale of two seasons for Ventura as they dropped 13 of the first 17 games before winning 18 of their final 25 contests. They finished the WSC North season with a perfect 12-0 mark. the program's first undefeated conference season since 1981. They also secured back-to-back conference crowns for the first time since the 2004 and 2005 seasons.
