Pirate freshmen Savanna Higgins and Jennie Jacinto have both been named All-Western State Conference by in voting by the WSC North Division softball coaches following the 2024 regular season. Higgins earned first team all-WSC honors while Jacinto was named second team all-conference.

Softball Closes Season with Victory

The Pirate softball team closed he 2024 season with a bang, posting a 14-3 triumph at Santa Monica Tuesday afternoon. Savanna Higgins had a double and a triple with a run scored and two runs batted in and Jennie Jacinto had three hits and a walk with one RBI and three runs scored. Chelsea Trejo allowed three runs, one earned, over seven innings worked in the pitcher's circle for Ventura, who finished the season with seven wins in their final 13 games.

The VC softball team scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh and had the potential game-tying run at the plate with no outs before falling to Allan Hancock 6-4 Thursday in their 2024 home finale. Higgins Powers Pirates Past Chaffey

Savanna Higgins had a great day leading the Pirate softball team to an 8-5 victory over visiting Chaffey Wednesday. The VC shortstop was 2-4 with an RBI single and a 3-run home run in back-to-back innings to lead Ventura to the triumph. Pitcher Chelsea Trejo navigated through a 15-hit Chaffey offensive attack, allowing five runs to pick up the win in the circle.

The Pirate softball team dropped a 9-1 decision at Allan Hancock Tuesday in Santa Maria. Six players all had one hit each for Ventura with Jennie Jacinto knocking in Haylie Lopez for VC's lone run.

Ventura Softball Defeats Oxnard 6-3

It was a great day to have a great day for the Ventura College softball team as the Pirates defeated visiting Oxnard 6-3 Thursday. Alexyss Campos hit a sacrifice fly and an RBI triple to knock in four runs while Jennie Jacinto had a pair of hits, including a double, with two runs scored and a run batted in to lead VC to victory. Chelsea Trejo pitched a complete game, scattering eight hits and allowing three runs while striking out five for the Pirates.

Jacinto's late home run not enough for Pirates

Pirate catcher Jennie Jacinto hit a 3-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, but her heroics were not enough as the Pirate softball team dropped a 6-5 decision to Cuesta Thursday at the VC Softball Complex. Savanna Higgins contributed a pair of hits, a run scored an a run batted in and Kiara Harrison also had two hits and scored a run for Ventura. Chelsea Trejo limited the Cougars to six earned runs in the setback from the pitcher's circle.

Pirate Softball Makes 2024 Home Debut

After nine straight games on the road, the Pirate softball team made their inaugural appearance at the VC Softball Complex, falling to Pasadena City College 10-1. Jennie Jacinto led Ventura with three hits in the game while Savanna Higgins and Jade Loeffler also recorded hits in the game. Kiara Harrison scored VC's lone runs, sent home by Raylene Reyes.

The Ventura College softball team had a difficult trip to San Diego over the weekend, falling twice to San Diego Mesa on Friday before dropping a decision at Southwestern on Saturday. Savanna Higgins led the Pirates with four hits on the weekend, including a home run, and two runs scored with a run batted in. Alyssa Jacinto had three RBI in the three games for VC.

The Pirate softball team dropped a pair of games Saturday to close out the Glendale Tournament. VC fell to San Diego Mesa 17-3 in five innings before falling short against Modesto, 10-7. Jennie Jacinto had five hits on the day with two runs batted in and two runs scored. Raylene Reyes recorded four hits and Savanna Higgins hit a home run in the night cap.

Jennie Jacinto and Kaliona Hernandez had hits for the Pirates and Jacinto and Raylene Reyes each scored runs. Chelsea Trejo made the start in the circle for Ventura (0-1).
