Facing off with Cuesta College for third place in the Western State Conference tournament Ventura fell 11-5. Alejandro Astudillo netted two of the Pirate goals. Daniel Amorim added three assists for Ventura. J'son Ruiz the VC goalkeeper collected nine saves in the game.
Ventura College men's water polo team split their two games on the opening day of the Western State Conference tournament. Opening the day at 10:00 am the Pirates faced off Santa Monica claiming a 13-8 win. The win set up a match-up with No. 1-seed LA Valley who defeated the Pirates 23-3. Daniel Amorim netted seven goals in one the day. While Trevor Edwards picked up four goals.
In their final regular season Western State Conference game, Ventura College men's water polo suffered a 19-7 defeat against the Citrus College Owls. Isaias Castanon scored two goals, drew two ejections and had a steal in the loss. Rogelio Coronado added two goals and a steal for Ventura.
Following an undefeated weekend in the pool, Ventura men's water polo returned to Western State Conference play hosting Cuesta College. A slow start to the game cost the Pirates as they fell 13-8. Nathan Sardoni and Isaias Castanon both netted two goals in the game.
Following a pair of close wins on day one the Ventura College men's water polo team claimed a pair of victories in dominating fashion on Saturday. Opening the day versus Santa Rosa College the Pirates picked up a 13-7 win. Playing for an undefeated weekend VC left no doubt by drubbing Ohlone College 14-4 in their final game. Rogelio Coronado netted five goals with goalkeeper Luis Galvez picking up 17 saves on the day.
Ventura College men's water polo traveled to Arroyo Grande Friday to play in the Cuesta Tournament. Taking on Merced College in their opener, the Pirates picked up a one-goal win, 14-13, before taking down Sierra College 13-10 in the nightcap. Daniel Amorim netted nine total goals on the day for the Pirates, while Trevor Edwards added six goals.
Traveling to Rancho Cucamonga to play in the Chaffey College mini-tournament, VC men's water polo split a pair of games. In the early contest, the Pirates knocked of Cal Tech with a 12-10 victory. With just 10 minutes between games Ventura was unable to overcome host Chaffey's offensive attack dropping the game 16-12. Daniel Amorim netted seven goals with four assists and seven steals on the day.
The VC men's water polo team fell behind 7-0 after the first quarter and was never able to get into the game, ultimately falling 15-4 to the Monarchs in Valley Glen. Daniel Amorim scored two goals for the Pirates in the loss.
The Pirates' men's water polo team won two more games Saturday at the Saddleback Tournament, stretching their winning streak to six, taking home the tournament championship with a 4-0 record for the weekend. VC defeated Rio Hondo 12-5 in the morning before defeating Santa Monica 19-5 in the finale.
The surging Ventura College men's water polo team produced a pair of wins to begin the Saddleback Tournament in Mission Viejo on Friday. VC defeated Chaffey 17-11 before downing the host Gauchos 10-7. Goalie J'son Ruiz had a big day with 21 saves, eight steals and three assists in the two contests.

Freshman utility player Eric Krieger netted three scores with four assists and three steals to lead VC in the win.

The Pirates' men's water polo team wrapped up the Mt. San Antonio Tournament Saturday in Walnut with a pair of losses. VC dropped their first match of the day to the hosts, 14-4, before falling to Fullerton College 14-9 in the teams' third contest in nine days.

VC lost to Palomar 14-11 in the opener before falling 14-9 to Orange Coast. Sophomore Daniel Amorim had seven goals on the day to go along with four steals, three drawn exclusions and a pair of assists.
Playing against juniors and seniors in their home opener, the Pirates' men's water polo team gave a good fight, but lost to NCAA Division III Cal Lutheran 15-4 Wednesday in Thousand Oaks. Nathan Sardoni, Coby Wiegman, Trevor Edwards and Tyler Bleiberg all scored goals for the Pirates.
The Pirates' men's water polo team split their second day at the Citrus Tournament in Glendora to claim third place in their season-opening event. VC dropped a 14-6 decision to the host Owls before coming back to defeat Fullerton 14-6 in the third place game. Trevor Edwards was dominant offensively with 12 goals in the two games.
