Ventura Edges Citrus 14-12

The Ventura College men's water polo team edged Citrus 14-12 Wednesday evening in Western State Conference play. Rogelio Coronado led the Pirates (5-9, 1-1) with five goals while Jimmy Ewald and Tim Allen scored twice each. Joe Yamamoto, Josue Cornejo, Rodrigo Siracusa, Nick Miranda, and Tyler Remnant also found the back of the net in the victory. Sean McGee had nine saves in goal.

MEN'S WATER POLO:  The Ventura College men's water polo team edged Citrus 14-12 Wednesday evening in Western State Conference play. Rogelio Coronado led the Pirates (5-9, 1-1) with five goals while Jimmy Ewald and Tim Allen scored twice each. Joe Yamamoto, Josue Cornejo, Rodrigo Siracusa, Nick Miranda, and Tyler Remnant also found the back of the net in the victory. Sean McGee had nine saves in goal.

The Pirates will travel to San Luis Obispo Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18-19 for the Cuesta 2 Tournament. They will play Sierra and Santa Rosa on Friday and Cabrillo and Merced on Saturday. The Pirates return to WSC play on Wednesday Oct. 23 at 2:15pm against Santa Monica. The home match begins at 2:15pm at the Ventura Aquatic Center.
