Pirate Tennis Earns No. 3 Seed in SoCal Playoffs

The Western State Conference champion Ventura College men's tennis team is headed to the playoffs. The Pirates (14-2) received the No. 3 seed in the CCCAA Southern California Regionals and will host No. 5 Orange Coast College (15-4) on Tuesday April 5 for a 2:00 pm match at the VC Tennis Center.

The Western State Conference champion Ventura College men's tennis team is headed to the playoffs.  The Pirates (14-2) received the No. 3 seed in the CCCAA Southern California Regionals and will host No. 5 Orange Coast College (15-4) on Tuesday April 5 for a 2:00 pm match at the VC Tennis Center.

The Pirates of the north (VC) and Pirates of the south (OCC) have not met this season.  Ventura finished the WSC season with a perfect 8-0 mark while OCC finished second in the Orange Empire Conference behind top-seed Irvine Valley with a 7-3 mark.  

The winner of Tuesday's match will face the winner of No. 2 Cerritos and No. 7 Riverside on Tuesday April 12.  Other quarterfinals matches pit No. 1 Irvine Valley vs. No. 8 San Diego Mesa, No. 6 Saddleback at No. 4 Mt. San Antonio.
