VC finishes a close third at WSC event at Soule Park
The Pirate golf team finished a close third on Monday at the Western State Conference event at Ojai's Soule Park Golf Course hosted by College of the Canyons. Ventura posted a team score of 304, four shots behind Santa Barbara and three behind the hosts. Freddie Carcamo again led VC with a 1-over 73, good for third place individually, a stroke off the medalist total. Nathan Schultz shot a 3-over 75 which tied him for fifth place overall.

Matthew Jones and Stephen Ong rounded out the Pirates' team scoring,each with a 6-over 78. Meanwhile, Caden Raines also carded a 78 and Donovan Chappell posted a score of 82.
The Pirates will next play in the 36-hole Western State Conference Championships on Monday April 27 at Sundale Country Club in Bakersfield.
