Ventura Second at WSC No. 9, Bakersfield Invite

The Ventura College golf team finished in the runner up position in the Western State Conference No. 9 event and in the Bakersfield Invitational held simultaneously Monday at the Bakersfield Country Club. Steen Zeman paced Ventura with a 1-under par 71 to place second in both events and Nicholas Burns turned in a 4-over 76. The Pirates posted a team score of 393 to finish behind Canyons (380) and ahead of Glendale (395).

Burns placed second in both the WSC event and in the invitational with his outstanding 1-under par score. Burns' 76 earned him fifth place in the WSC match and a tie for sixth in the BC Invite.  Other Pirate scores included Evan Colborn, 80, Zack Garboski, 82, Jonas Slattum, 84, and Liam Kebely, 85. 

Ventura will join the rest of the WSC in making up the WSC No. 7 match at Santa Maria Country Club on Monday April 18 before the 36-hole WSC Championships on Monday April 25.
