VC Claims Second as Host of WSC-Ventura Match
The Pirate golf team finished second with a season-best score of 391 Monday at the Western State Conference No. 2 match hosted by Ventrua at the River Ridge Golf Course in Oxnard. Nick Burns carded the low score for VC with a 2-over 74, including a red-ht 32 on the back nine, good for a tie for fifth place overall. Steen Zeman shot 4-over 76 and all six Pirates recorded scores of 83 or better on the day.

Steen Zeman shot 4-over 76 for his second straight Top-10 and all six Pirates recorded scores of 83 or better on the day.
Canyons won the team event with a score of 370 followed by the Pirates, Bakersfield (396) and Glendale (401).
Evan Colborn shook off a sore knee to post a score of 80 and Zack Garboski also carded the 8-over total. Jonas Slattum shot 81 and Martin Alvarez recorded an 83 for Ventura.
VC next heads to Alisal Ranch GC in Solvang for the WSC No. 3 event hosted by Santa Barbara on Monday Feb. 21.
