Golfers Defeat Antelope Valley on the Road

Steen Zeman shot a 1-under 71 and Aaron Friedland was just two stroke behind to lead the Pirate golf team to a big win over host Antelope Valley Wednesday in a dual Western State Conference competition. VC shot a solid 383 as a team to easily defeat the Marauders, who posted a 435, at the par-72 Antelope Valley Country Club in Palmdale.

Zeman holed out a 60-yard shot for an eagle on the seventh hole, and chipped in for a birdie on No. 8 en route to his 1-under score.

Other Pirates scored included Evan Colborn, 75, Kaden Santos, 79, and Eric Burschinger and Kyle Okuhara each with an 85.

Ventura expands its competition on Monday May 17, taking on a number of Orange Empire Conference teams traveling to the Riverside Invitational.  The Pirates return home on Wednesday May 19 hosting a WSC event at Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura.
