Ventura Golf 4th at WSC, 10th at SoCal Preview

The Pirate golf team had a two-for-one special Monday, playing in two tournaments with a single round of golf at Bakersfield Country Club. It was not Ventura's best day on the links as the Pirates came in 10th out of 16 teams  in the SoCal Preview, and finished a season-low fourth in the Western State Conference Netural Site event. VC carded a team score of 391, and was led by Denis Kakimoto's 2-over 74, which was good for a tie for second in the WSC competition.

The Pirate golf team had a two-for-one special Monday, playing in two tournaments with a single round of golf at Bakersfield Country Club. It was not Ventura's best day on the links as the Pirates came in 10th out of 16 teams  in the SoCal Preview, and finished a season-low fourth in the Western State Conference Neutral Site event. VC carded a team score of 391, and was led by Denis Kakimoto's 2-over 74, which was good for a tie for second in the WSC competition.

Orange Coast claimed the SoCal Preview with a team score of 365, followed by Palomar (378), Cypress (378), Riverside (379), Canyons (382), Desert (383), Mt. San Jacinto (386), Santa Barbara (391), Glendale (394), and VC.

In the WSC event, Canyons was tops, followed by Santa Barbara, Glendale and the Pirates.

After Kakimoto, Joey Herrera posted a 78 for Ventura, followed by Adam Franc and Connor Philpott (81), Jonathon Ortiz (82) and Alex Millet (85).

Ventura next heads to the WSC event at Antelope Valley Country Club in Palmdale, hosted by Antelope Valley College, on Monday March 12.
