Herrera Ties as Medalist as VC Second at River Ridge
Pirate sophomore Joey Herrera posted his best round of the year, a 2-under par 70, tying for first place at the Western State Conference event hosted by VC at River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard Monday. Alex Millet was third with a 1-under 71 as the Pirates came in second place as a team in their only home appearance of the season. Denis Kakimoto came in fourth with an even-par 72.

Canyons won the event with a team score of 379 and the Pirates were second at 391. Santa Barbara came in third after carding a 394.
Other Pirate scores included Adam Franc with an 85, Connor Philpott at 93 and Aaron Friedland at 96.
The Pirates head to Bakersfield Country Club, the site of this year's SoCal Regional Championships, for the WSC-Neutral Site event on Monday March 5. Tee times begin at 12:00 pm.
