Ventura Takes Third at WSC-Bakersfield

The Pirates' men's gold team took third place Monday at the Western State Conference event hosted by Bakersfield College. Ventura posted a team score of 392, which tied the Pirates with Santa Barbara. The Vaqueros broke the tie with a better score for the sixth golfer, however, and VC ended in third place. Joey Herrera and Alex Millet each posted 4-over scores of 76 at the Rio Bravo Country Club to lead the way for the Pirates.

Canyons came in first with a score of 382, followed by SBCC and the Pirates at 392, Glendale at 398 and Hancock at 415.

Other Ventura scores included: Denis Kakimoto (79), Aaron Friedland (80), Connor Philpott (81) and Adam Franc (84).

VC returns to the links at the Mt. San Jacinto Invitational on Wednesday Feb. 14. Tee times begin at 11:00 am at Tukwet Canyon Golf Club in Riverside.
