Pirates Golf Finishes in Third Place in WSC-Santa Barbara

The Ventura College golf team took to the road to play at Alisal Ranch golf club in Santa Barbara, Ca and brought home a third place finish. The Pirates finished by College of the Canyons and Santa Barbara City College with a team score of 381. Austin Kratochvil finished his round with a two under par 70 which was the second best round of the day for any competitor. Brandon Resnick shot a two over 74 for a seventh place finish.

VC has brought home a second place finish in their first Western State Conference match and this week fell back one spot while putting up a 381 team score. Their score was just five shots behind second place SBCC, but trailed the winner COC by 18 shots.

Ventura had three golfers finish in the top 11 spots for the day with Kratochvil and Resnick bringing home top ten finishes. Emil Ozeke shot a three over 75 for the day and finished in 11th place for the Pirates. Matt Sieger and Brian Wipf finished at 81 on the day, while Kyle Dollison completed his round with a 82.

Ventura will tee it up again on Monday Feb. 22 at 11:00 am for their third WSC match of the season. This match will be contested in Bakersfield at Stockdale Country Club.
