Golfers Middle of the Pack at WSC-Antelope Valley

Golf is a funny game. One day you can be great, the next, not so much. After two solid weeks in row, the VC men's golf team fell back Monday at the Western State Conference event at Antelope Valley Country Club, carding a 399, their second-highest score of the year. But that was still good for fourth place in the eight-team event. Remy Smaby was VC's low man with a 4-over par 76.

Golf is a funny game.  One day you can be great, the next, not so much.  After two solid weeks in row, the VC men's golf team fell back Monday at the Western State Conference event at Antelope Valley Country Club, carding a 399, their second-highest score of the year.  But that was still good for fourth place in the eight-team event.  Remy Smaby was VC's low man with a 4-over par 76.

Canyons finished first on the day with a 367, followed by the hosts, Antelope Valley at 390.  Santa Barbara was third at 394 followed by Ventura.

Other scores for the Pirates included Matthew Thomas, 78; Greg Brown, 81; Emil Ozeke and Alex Hood, 82; and  Patrick Holden, 83.

VC will travel to Santa Maria Country Club on Monday March 30 for the WSC event hosted by Allan Hancock College.  Tee times begin at 10:00 am.
