Men's Basketball Earns No. 4 Seed in 3C2A SoCal Rgionals
The Pirates' men's basketball team has earned the No. 4 seed in the 3C2A Southern California Regional Playoffs. They will have a first round bye and host the winner of No. 13 East Los Angeles and No. 20 Santa Ana on Saturday Feb. 28 at the Athletic Event Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm. The Huskies and Dons will play on Wednesday Feb. 25 at East LA.

Ventura finished the season with an overall record of 24-4 and a Western State Conference North Division mark of 11-1. The Pirates returned to the top of the WSC North standings in 2026 for the first time in three seasons. East Los Angeles, meanwhile, was 18-9 during the season and 9-1 in South Coast Conference North Division play. The Huskies tied for first place in their conference with No. 7 Mt. San Antonio. Santa Ana finished 20-8 on the year and 6-8 in the Orange Empire Conference, good for a fifth place finish.
VC is led by WSC North Player of the Year Jerimiyah Smith, who is nearly averaging a double-double with 20.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game on the season. He is also shoting nearly 65 percent from the floor on the season. All-WSC point guard Snookey Wigington scores 16.7 points per game and drops 7.2 dimes per contest while All-WSC guard Kam'Ron Cigar is dropping 13.7 points per game. Another All-WSC guard Baron Bellamy is the fourth Pirate to average double-figures in 2026 with 10.1 points per game. Honorable mention All-WSC selection Jeremiah Wilson nets 9.1 points per contest and forward Kevin Anigbogu brings in 5.7 boards per outing.
Ventura has not faced East LA or Santa Ana this season.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm at the Athletic Event Center Saturday. Tickets prices, set by the 3C2A, are $13 for general admission and $9 for Students, Faculty, Staff, Seniors and Children under 12. Tickets can be pre-purchased online at this link.
