Men's Basketball Battles Cuesta in Loss

The VC men's basketball team battled, but ultimately dropped a 75-66 decision against Cuesta Saturday at the Athletic Event Center. Kevin Hymes came off the bench to score 16 points, including a 10-12 performance at the foul line, and Jeremiah Wilson netted 15 points with five assists. Kam'Ron Cigar recorded 11 points and eight rebounds in teh game and Bo Dolinsek had nine points and seven boards.

Pirates Claim Triumph in Another Close Game

Behind a 24-point performance by Kam'Ron Cigar, the Pirates' men's basketball team came out on top of another close game Monday, 71-65 over visiting Los Angeles Pierce. Jeremiah Wilson produced a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds and Bo Dolinsek netted 13 points in the triumph for VC. Cigar also handed out a team-high five assists and grabbed four steals.

In a tight game throughout, the Pirates' men's basketball team took a lead midway through the second half and held on to outlast Santa Barbara 75-69 Saturday at the Athletic Event Center. Kam'Ron Cigar netted 14 points and handed out four assists while Jeremiah Wilson added 17 points. Kevin Hymes produced 14 points and dropped eight dimes with five rebounds and Bo Dolinsek recorded 10 points.

Despite shooting 49 percent from the floor, 50 percent from three and 77 percent from the free throw line, the Pirates' men's basketball team dropped a 103-84 decision to San Bernardino Valley on the final day of the Hypland Classic Saturday at Riverside. Jeremiah Wilson netted 23 points with six boards to lead the way while Kevin Hymes totaled 17 points in the effort. The VC men's basketball team completed the Milt Stowe Classic in Porterville by holding off El Camino for a 61-59 victory. The Pirates' men's basketball team dropped a 67-57 decision to host Porerville on the first day of the Milt Stowe Classic Thursday. Ventura was unable to find its shooting touch against the Pirates of the Central Valley as Porterville led throughout the contest. Pirates Can't Keep up With LA Southwest

The VC men's basketball team had one of those nights and could not keep up with visiting Los Angeles Southwest Wednesday. Despite 18 points each from Bo Dolinsek and Elijah Brown, the Pirates dropped a 100-78 decision to the Cougars. Tournament MVP Bo Dolensik turned in another double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds and All-Tournament selections Kam'Ron Cigar and Kevin Hymes tallied 18 and 10 points, respectively, as the VC men's basketball team captured the Irvin Valley Classic championship 73-68 over the hosts Friday evening. Jeremiah Wilson recorded a game-high 21 points in the victory over the Lasers.

The Pirates' men's basketball team used a consistent effort on Thursday to turn a small halftime deficit into a 64-55 victory over Cerritos at the Irvine Valley Classic. Bo Dolinsek produced his fourth double-double in as many games with 18 points and 12 rebounds while Kevin Hymes contributed 16 points, seven boards, three assists and four steals. Jeremiah Wilson netted 14 points with six rebounds.

Ventura Unable to Mount Comeback in WPH Tourney

The VC men's basketball team fell into a big hole early and were unable to mount a comeback Friday in dropping a 93-61 decision to Antelope Valley on the second day of the We Play Hard Tournament. Bo Delinsek had a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds while Elijah Brown netted 14 points to lead the way for the Pirates (1-1). Isaiah Dudley came off the bench to total 12 points.

Men's Basketball Opens With Victory in We Play Hard Tourney

The VC men's basketball team opened the 2024-25 campaign with a solid 65-54 victory over San Diego Miramar Thursday in the We Play Hard Tip-Off Tournament at the Athletic Event Center. Bo Dolinsek netted 24 points in his Pirate debut to lead the way and Kevin Hymes poured in 13 points in Ventura's first game under head coach Derick Pugh.
