Pirates Earn First Round Bye, Host Playoffs Saturday

Fresh off their seventh consecutive Western State Conference North Division championship, the Pirates' men's basketball team earned the No. 7 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs, receiving a first round bye. VC will host the winner of Wednesday's contest between No. 10 Santiago Canyon (18-10) and No. 22/23 Chaffey (19-9). Ventura's second round game will be Saturday Feb. 25 at 7:00 pm at the Athletic Event Center.

Ticket prices are $12–general admission and  $8–for identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children less than 12 years of age. Only CCCAA, CCCWBCA and CCCMBCA passes are good for admission and and VC and Western State Conference passes will not be honored. The post-season competition is administrated by the CCCAA office , and sponsored by Wilson. Tickets will be available online at https://ventura.vbotickets.com/events and fans are encouraged to purchase tickets on their smart device before arriving at the game.

Ventura enters the playoffs with a 9-6 record against teams in the post-season. They have not played Santiago Canyon or Chaffey this season.

Saturday's second round game will be webcast on the Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach VC Sports Network by SoCal College Sports.

Should VC win Saturday's second-round match-up they will face No. 2 Citrus (25-3), No. 15/16 Long Beach (16-12) or No. 18/19 Cypress (17-11).
