MBB Earns Home Playoff Game in SoCal Regionals

Despite turning in the program's best regular season record since 1994-95, the Pirate men's basketball team received the No. 8 seed for the 2022 CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs. VC (25-2) will host No. 9 Citrus (21-6) on Thursday March 3 at 7:00 pm at the Athletic Event Center.

The Pirates are undefeated against Southern California competition this season, including an 82-81 victory over No. 6-seed Riverside in November. Ventura, the champions of the Western State Conference North Division for the sixth straight season, are 5-0 against the SoCal playoff field, including wins over No. 12 Cerro Coso, No. 13 Irvine Valley, No. 20 Long Beach and No. 21 MiraCosta in addition to RCC.

Citrus enters the game at 21-6 on the year after finishing second in the WSC South with a 12-2 conference mark.

The winner of Thursday's game will play on Saturday March 5 in the Regional Finals against No. 1 Fullerton or No. 16 Mt. San Antonio / No. 17 Mt. San Jacinto.

The CCCAA State Tournament will be held March 11-13 at West Hills College Lemoore.

Tickets prices for the game are set by the CCCAA. General Admission will be $12, $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff , senior citizens age 60 and over, and children less than 12 years of age.  Tickets will be available to purchase online at https://ventura.vbotickets.com/events.
